The Hittite Empire existed for over 800 years from 1600 BC to 700 BC. It was one of the great civilizations of the ancient world and rivaled both ancient Egypt and Babylon in size, magnificence and power.

Hittite civilization has many unique connections with the world of today. Their language was  Indo European, linking their empire to the Western world. They were the first bronze age empire to smelt and work iron, and their culture was among the first to have codified laws, literature and libraries. The Hittite legacy was later passed along to the legendary city-state of Troy and also to Etruscan civilization which was a foundation for the Roman Republic. One of their major symbols was the double-headed Eagle, imagery continued by the Byzantine Empire and still used in Eastern Europe and Russia today.

The Hittite capital city Hattusha was the most advanced and powerful city of the ancient world.  There the Hittites practiced an inclusive religion honoring "The thousand Gods."  Over 25,000 Hittite cuneiform clay writing texts have been discovered which provide a foundation for reviving Hittite civilization and religion once again!

From that foundation The Hittite Empire is now restored as an international community and new nation project.

Our goal is to meaningfully practice and revive Hittite civilization. Our central focus is the restoration of living and active Hittite religion, laying a spiritual connection for the rebirth of Hittite culture and society. In addition to religious practice we maintain a functioning Hittite administrative government to publicly organize and continue the functions of the Hittite Empire as far as is practically and peacefully possible.

The Thousand Gods of Hattusha still live, and the legacy of the Hittite Empire has been rediscovered after having been lost for over a thousand years. Today we have the power to restore both as a way to return ancient power, virtue and potential to the world.
